VZD’s — the beloved Oklahoma City bar/restaurant that closed its doors for good but not really for good last fall — has been under reconstruction the last few months. And now it looks like there actually was a legitimate reason for all those Western Avenue blockades and detours, as the rebranded-but-not-really-rebranded VZD’s Twitter account popped its Twitter cherry with this:
JUNE 2015 pic.twitter.com/d1WAlviDWr

What is June 2015, you ask? Could be anything, honestly. Maybe they’re pumped for humid, 100-degree days. Perhaps they’re big Bonnaroo or Flag Day enthusiasts. But we’re going to speculate and say this is the restaurant’s target opening month.
Whether you’re a beer connoisseur or construction hater, this is good news all around. We had some thoughts a few months back about the establishment’s regime change/rebranding efforts, one of which was the suggestion that they change the name altogether. But unless they’re using the above slabs of wood as coffin doors, it doesn’t look like that’s going to happen. Either way, we’re excited to see what the new establishment looks like, even if it’s sans music stage.
