Emo kingpin and your girlfriend’s favorite band in 2005 Brand New is coming to Oklahoma City on Thursday, April 23, 2015. The Long Island rockers will make the pitstop — with openers Circa Survive — at Diamond Ballroom in the midst of a string of dates through the Midwest, their first Oklahoma show since an appearance at Cain’s Ballroom in Tulsa back in 2009.
The band is back in the studio for the long-awaited followup to 2009’s Daisy, and with emo as popular in 2K15 as it was a decade back, The Devil And God Are Raging Inside Me and Deja Entendu are as relevant as ever. Their shows have taken an excitingly dark turn, too, of late: The group’s headline spot at the Pegasus Music Festival in Dallas this past summer would have done even My Bloody Valentine proud.
