Purity Ring with Braids and Born Gold
8 p.m. Thursday
Cain’s Ballroom | Tulsa
Since seeping into blogosphere with Shrines in 2012, Purity Ring have been blowing minds — ours included — with their enigmatic yet highly melodic brand of electronica, proving to be two of today’s most influential musical visionaries with only two albums under their belt. And Another Eternity, the Alberta-based future-pop duo’s most recent effort, has proven to be one of Oklahoma’s favorites — at least if record sales are any indication.
As far as concerts go, Purity Ring alone would be a huge draw, but two other mind-bending Canadian acts — Braids and Born Gold — have been pegged to tour with them. This is a ridiculously good bill — one of such quality that isn’t seen too often ’round these parts.
So, naturally, few of this year’s concert announcements have tickled our fancy more than Thursday’s gig at Cain’s Ballroom. In fact, our fancy was tickled so much that we and our friends at Cain’s want to share it with you by giving away a pair of tickets to the show. All you have to do is sign up for our e-newsletter and tell us your favorite Purity Ring/Braids/Born Gold song in the comments below. If you don’t do both of those things, you are not eligible to win. So do both of those things, ya hear? We’ll announce the lucky winner Wednesday.
In the meantime, check out our (my) three favorite Purity Ring/Braids/Born Gold songs below.
