Oklahoma City post-punks Sex Snobs will whip out their (excellently-titled) sophomore album, Pop Songs and Other Ways to Die, this Friday, July 3. Founded by Alex Barnard and James Hammontree while living in the Bay Area, and joined by Tim Buchanan and Billy Reid since their return to Oklahoma, Sex Snobs put out their electric, artful 2014 debut LP, Lonely (which we named one of the best Oklahoma releases of the year). The group pulled out an EP, Ugly, in late 2014. The new record will be available via the band’s Bandcamp page with a vinyl pressing set for the near future.
But if you are just shivering with anticipation, you are in luck. A pair of new songs, including “Burnt Around the Edge” and the title track, are there for your aural pleasure below, and the four-piece will prematurely stream the album in its entirety — along with an interview with the band — on The Oklahoma Rock Show, airing 7-9 p.m. this Thursday night on theSpyFM.
Expect a full review of the record next week right here at Oxford Karma.
