Hot damn. Is this The Deli or a Gap runway? Thoroughly adorable (and resoundingly talented) Oklahoma singer-songwriters Aaron Pierce and Parker Millsap appear at Norman’s favorite dive tonight, Wednesday, Feb. 11. Pierce plays a free set from 8 to 10 p.m. with the Guthrie folk-legend-in-the-making taking the reigns afterward.
Millsap was a Deli fixture, playing a weekly residency before touring demands made the standing appointment a hard one to fulfill. The gravelly-voiced young gun still makes a point of nodding to where he came from, treating those earliest fans to choice cuts from his 2014 self-titled album and 2012’s Palisades when he can. He has dates at Stagecoach Music Festival and Forecastle set moving forward into 2015.
Pierce, on the other hand, is a talented guitarist-turned-bluesy-folk-rocker who is just starting to come into his own as a songwriter and solo artist. His late 2014 record, Yesterday’s Changes, is his first proper release and what looks to be the start of good things to come.
Give them a listen and go get yourself a gander tonight at The Deli:
